Development Associate

The Essential Theatre, a non-profit, professional theatre company in Washington, DC is currently seeking a Washington, DC area based per project Development Associate.

Position hourly

Payment commensurate with experience.

This is a hybrid Position with most work performed virtually.

Reports to Artistic Director

 

The Development Associate will support the Development activities of The Essential Theatre related to individual contributions and will provide support to overarching development activities of the company.

Specifically responsible for:

  • All individual Solicitation campaigns
  • Support the Development and management of donor cultivation events.
  • Direct cultivation of sustaining supporters memberships.
  • Develop strategy for cultivation of donors
  • Provide support around Board of Trustees activities.
  • Provide support around application processes for government, foundation and corporate funding request processes.

Ideal candidates should Possess:

  • Minimum of two years of proven experience specific to individual fundraising and handling associated amenities and stewardship duties.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills .
  • Minimum two-year college degree related to arts or nonprofit management.
  • Experience with Microsoft word, excel, Power Point, and/or Publisher.
  • Self-starter.
